1. Introduction Welcome to Surgee ("we," "our," or "us"). We provide an autonomous SEO and site speed optimization application for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or install our Shopify application.
2. Information We Collect When you install Surgee, we collect information necessary to provide our services:
Shopify Store Data: Store name, domain, email address, product catalog, collections, and existing metadata.
Google Search Console Data: If you choose to connect your Google Search Console account, we access keyword rankings, impressions, clicks, and sitemap data.
Usage Data: Logs of AI agents running on your store, optimizations executed, and interaction with our dashboard.
3. How We Use Your Information We use your information strictly to provide and improve the Surgee service, including:
Generating meta tags, alt text, and SEO-optimized blog content.
Auditing site speed and executing technical health fixes (e.g., 301 redirects).
Providing customer support and communicating important updates.
4. Google API Services User Data Policy (OAuth Compliance) Surgee allows merchants to connect their Google Search Console via OAuth to provide advanced SEO analytics and keyword tracking.
Data Access & Use: We only access read-only Search Console data (keywords, rankings, performance metrics) to populate your Surgee dashboard and inform our AI SEO agents. We do not alter your Google account settings.
Data Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transfer your Google user data to third parties for advertising or data brokering.
Limited Use Disclosure: Surgee's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Website Analytics (Google Analytics): We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on our public marketing website to measure traffic, understand how visitors interact with our pages, and improve our marketing efforts. Google Analytics collects technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not run Google Analytics tracking scripts inside your secure Shopify admin dashboard.

5. Data Security and Isolation Enterprise-grade growth requires enterprise-grade security. Surgee operates on a strictly multi-tenant PostgreSQL architecture backed by Row-Level Security (RLS). This ensures your keywords, agent logs, and store data are mathematically isolated from every other merchant. All access tokens (Shopify and Google) are encrypted at rest.
6. Data Retention and Deletion We retain your data for as long as your Shopify app subscription is active. If you uninstall Surgee, your data and access tokens are marked for deletion in accordance with Shopify's mandatory webhook requirements. You may also request manual data deletion at any time by contacting us.
